The cause of the error is due to the driver that is being installed is out of date and not compatible with Windows 7.
To resolve this we need to remove the drivers currently installed.

-  Once extracted please close all software. Please also ensure the dongle is removed from the PC.
-  Please then run the Uninstall.bat file. You may receive a user access control message, please accept this to continue.
-  Once
the file has run successfully you will receive a pop box indicating

click on 'Ok'
-  A
Terminal window will be visible and will indicate that the computer
will require to be restarted. This is very important please ensure this
is performed. Press any key to close this window.
Once the old drivers have been removed we can install the new drivers.
-  Once
you computer is restarted Do Not Insert the Dongle. Please navigate
back to the folder containing the two files and run 'setupdrv.exe'
-  Again
please accept the user access control message. Please then confirm the
installation of the new drivers by selecting "Install"

window will disappear as if nothing has happened. Following a short
pause a window will popup stating "The Dinkey Dongle drivers have been
successfully installed" Please click on 'Ok'
