1. Introduction
Water Level Meters function by detecting conduction between the pin in the probe and the outer body of the probe, this conduction is usually provided by the presence of water, thereby allowing the meter to detect the level of water.
Different waters have different conductivity
characteristics, so sometimes a Water Level Meter will detect water with
a high conductivity, while not detecting water with a low conductivity.
To facilitate detecting all types of water, Water Level Meters come
with a sensitivity adjustment dial.
2. Setting The Sensitivity
2. Setting The Sensitivity
To set the sensitivity, unscrew the faceplate from the unit and turn it over to reveal the PCB, on this PCB is a small dial labelled RV1 next to the battery holder, this is the sensitivity adjuster.
Rotate this dial
clockwise to increase the sensitivity, and anti-clockwise to decrease
sensitivity.
The sensitivity is set correctly if the unit indicates
immediately upon entering water, and ceases to indicate immediately when
removed from water.
